| The topic for the 2011 PPS Companion Meeting was decided upon by the PPS Program Committee after soliciting input from the PPS membership and the PPS Program Committee. The purpose of the companion meeting is to inform the audience of the most recent advances in the understanding of pulmonary pathology. Proposed revisions to the classification of lung carcinomas, issues regarding the classification of interstitial lung diseases, and current understanding of the pulmonary pathology of collagen vascular diseases all have diagnostic and therapeutic applications that are presently applicable to the practice of pulmonary pathology. The objective of the 2011 PPS Companion Meeting is to advance the understanding of the current issues in pulmonary pathologists as well as general pathologists. |
