patchy infiltrate. She died with organizing diffuse alveolar damage. The section is from the right
upper lobe.

A 37-year-old woman had a retroperitoneal mass and mild hypertension. The mass was
excised and reported to be keratin and chromogranin negative. The tumor was large (10 x 8 x 6 cm) and
was located in the region of the bifurcation of the aorta. Cut section was hemorrhagic with some firm,
tan areas.




A 60-year-old man presented with high fever and diarrhea. Chest x-ray showed areas of
consolidation. He had an open lung biopsy.




This 52-year old woman presented with an enlarging breast mass. Needle biopsy revealed an
invasive ductal carcinoma and Her2/neu immunostaining was interpreted as 2+ positive. The patient was
treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by mastectomy and axillary lymph node dissection 3 months
later.




This 35-year old woman underwent a frontal lobe biopsy for an enhancing intraparenchymal
neoplasm. She was treated with radiation therapy and did well until 14 years later when imaging
abnormalities were once again noted.
