The topics and speakers were chosen after reviewing prior programs in an attempt to choose topics and speakers novel to this society and who, by dint of their academic records, are considered experts on these topics. The symposium is an attempt to unite a spectrum of seemingly unrelated problems that all have a common dilemma, both conceptually and diagnostically. These four topics are common and, yet, difficult problems to deal with diagnostically in the daily interpretation of dermatopathology specimens. This will help attendees to understand the nature of the diagnostic dilemmas posed by these difficult concepts; to understand how and whether they constitute a medico-legal problem; and to understand how the conditions should be addressed in pathology reports for the management of patients.
