The topic was selected by the President and Executive Committee based on a review of past topics and discussion of subjects that would be of greatest interest to the practicing pathologist focusing on those areas that are most controversial and difficult. New information regarding topics chosen will fill a need that pathologists in clinical practice face on a regular basis. The goal is to provide new information concerning the pathogenesis of uterine sarcomas based on recent morphological and molecular genetic studies and to discuss problematic issues relating to diagnostic criteria, prognostic parameters, and surgical staging.
