This topic was chosen based on recent advances in the field of inflammatory bowel disease; it is a topic that has not been covered in depth in this format. The symposium will cover issues ranging from diagnostic challenges in the bowel and the pouch to malignancies and the molecular pathogenesis of IBD neoplasia. The keynote speaker is a clinical gastroenterologist who will present new developments in the diagnosis and management of dysplasia in IBD. Members of the Education Committee were involved in the selection of the topics and speakers.
