Diagnostic Pathology 2010

The 2010 Diagnostic Pathology Update will include an optional evening session which features case presentations by several of the faculty. Each case has been selected to illustrate a relatively common and troublesome diagnostic issue that is likely to be encountered by most practicing pathologists. Case History:
54-year old male presented with obstructive jaundice and vague abdominal pain and was found to have a 1.5 cm solid mucosal-covered mass in the ampulla of Vater. The patient underwent pancreatoduodenectomy, which showed the tumor to extend deep in the duodenal musculature and also into the pancreas.
