Course Description
This course is designed to provide updated knowledge for practicing surgical pathologists, academicians, and residents. It addresses the resolution of diagnostic problems relative to each of the major organ systems. The course fee includes a comprehensive syllabus and a CD-ROM containing an illustrative powerpoint presentation for each topic presented, totaling over 3,500 images. Details regarding topics to be covered by each speaker will be available on the USCAP website. The intent of this course is to provide a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere for learning from an outstanding faculty lecturing on important topics. There is time for 1:1 interaction with the faculty. For registrants, daily continental breakfast and three lunches are included in the fee. There is a reception on Sunday for registrants and accompanying persons. The ample free time in the schedule makes this a great opportunity for a family experience.

Course Learning Objectives

To sharpen existing diagnostic expertise in the 14 organs/subspecialties presented and to show how newly acquired information, recent technological advances and updated concepts are used in the daily practice of diagnostic pathology.
To provide an understanding of current standards, techniques, criteria, classifications, etc. in areas where training and self-study may give less than ideal exposure.
To stimulate interest in new developments and to assist in recognition of the benefits and limitations of new technologies.

CME Credits
The USCAP is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The USCAP designates this educational activity for a maximum of 34.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Self-Assessment Modules (SAMs)
The USCAP is also accredited by the American Board of Pathology to offer Self-Assessment Modules (SAMs) for the purpose of meeting the American Board of Pathology requirements for Maintenance of Certification. Registrants must take and pass (80% correct) the post-test in order to claim SAMs credit(s). These SAMs offerings address the following ACGME competency: "b. Medical Knowledge about established and evolving biomedical, clinical, and cognate (e.g. epidemiological and social-behavioral) sciences and the application of this knowledge to patient care".

Cancellation Policy
Refunds of fees, less $50 administrative fee, will be made until June 30, 2008. Refunds after that date will be subject to a 50% penalty, but registrants will receive course materials.
