Update on Genitourinary Pathology including a new Grading System for Prostate Cancer.

Educational Objective

There is a new grading system for prostate cancer following a Consensus meeting of the ISUP. There has also been a recent Consensus meeting of the ISUP on Active Surveillance in Prostate Cancer. There have been many recent advances in the diagnosis of renal neoplasia. All this information needs to be disseminated to practicing pathologists. Adrenal Pathology has not been discussed in many years, so this has been included as well. The topic was determined by the moderators, on discussion with the president and executive of the ISUP decided on the topic of “Update on Genitourinary Pathology including a new Grading System for Prostate Cancer”. This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of Pathologists and other health care professionals who are involved in diagnosis and management of genitourinary malignancy. Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Accurate grading of prostate cancer
  2. Accurate reporting of prostate needle biopsies in the optimum management of prostate cancer patients.
  3. Have knowledge of recent advances in renal neoplasia
  4. Have knowledge of recent advances in adrenal neoplasia
