Pathologists-in-Training Travel Award

The application period is closed for the 2018 Annual Meeting. 

Awards will be prioritized according to the following criteria: 

• Pathologist-in-Training with a First Author abstract accepted, no institutional funding, first time attendee 

• Pathologist-in-Training with a First Author abstract accepted, no institutional funding 

• Pathologist-in-Training with other than First Author abstract accepted, no institutional funding 

• Pathologist-in-Training with a First Author abstract not accepted, no institutional funding 

• Economic hardship from underserved countries or regions, first-time attendee 

Global Partners Travel Award

The Global Partners Travel Awards are made possible by philanthropic donations to the USCAP Foundation. 

Criteria for Application

Awards will be given to practicing pathologists who: 

• Reside in an underserved country (the WHO-HINARI website will be utilized as a guide) and have a demonstrable need for financial support to attend the USCAP Annual Meeting 

• Provide a resume and supporting letter from a Department Head or Supervisor attesting to the need for travel assistance and the potential benefit for attending the meeting 

Preference will be given to: 

• Applicants whose scientific abstracts have been accepted for presentation at the 2018 Annual Meeting 

• Applicants who are dues paying members of the USCAP 

• Pathologists just beginning their careers (in practice or less than five years) 

• Pathologists-in-training 

 

Application Deadline 

The application period is closed for the 2018 Annual Meeting. 

Expenses Covered by the Award: 

To assist pathologists from underserved countries to attend the upcoming USCAP Annual Meeting, the Global Partners Travel Award will provide selected recipients: 

• Up to $3,000 in travel, lodging, and registration fees 

• Complimentary General Registration at the USCAP Annual Meeting 

• Complimentary enrollment in the Long Course 

• Complimentary Adjunct Membership for 1 year 

 

Award Allocation 

Applicants will be notified of the results of the award process after November 1, 2017. Travel award winners are responsible for making all of their own travel and lodging arrangements. Please apply for a US travel visa immediately if you are selected as an award recipient. The USCAP Foundation’s Global Partners Travel Award will be distributed at the Annual Meeting. Award winners must appear in-person in order to receive this award.
